An attitude of Gratitude

On most mornings, my Golden Retriever and I take out my bike “George” from the garage and pedal/run around the housing development for about one half hour.

It is very quiet by the time we go out…children are in school, people have gone off to work…only a rare mini van approaches.

To me, this time, in the quietness, is like a meditation…a mindful meditation…with my views of the mountains and the beautiful blue Colorado sky…it allows my mind to just wander and wonder.

On today’s fresh, crisp, fall morning, I noticed all the trees lining the streets were beginning their color changes. How magical! On this breezy morning, the leaves were rustling wildly adding to the wonderment of it all.

As I slowly pedaled my way around all the tree lined streets just “ taking in” Nature’s beauty into myself, I began to remember the lines from the Joyce Kilmer poem about trees and all of a sudden, that memory became so perfect.

When you are out this fall, among the sights and sounds of trees, may you too think of his words and may they bring you closer to the majesty of God.

Pluto- the wrecking ball energy

The energy of Pluto is "on the move". Pluto is an energy in the Universe of death, destruction and rebirth.
It is like a farmer plowing a field in preparation for the new plants, growth and abundance that will then come in next season.
The energy is like the wrecking ball on houses in TV show Extreme Makeover. The demolition brings an appearance of chaos, destruction, dirt, disorganization. But... as the big machines pull in, clear away the unwanted old of the previous non-functioning house, the rebuilding begins anew with better than ever new house standing strong.
This is what is happening energetically world wide.
For the last 12 years or so "big Daddy" Pluto has been in the sign of Sagittarius influencing specific issues.
Now, it is in the sign of Capricorn as of November 26, 2008 and will stay there influencing issues until 2023! During this time, we will expect to see many major changes in the world, for Pluto represents the principle of reform, and Capricorn the principle of structure and boundaries.
Are not Structures and boundaries of all types being transformed in a radical way? This is extremely important with relevance to investment decisions, thus bringing in new political and economic ramifications.
The influence of Pluto in Capricorn "plows under weeds" particularly connected to government, banking, insurances, money issues, authority, boundaries of nations, particularly on a large scale and in your life too.
Here are the general issues and themes of Pluto in Capricorn to be aware of -- (see, not everything is an issue): - Pluto pertains to taxes and debt in the financial world. Capricorn pertains to government and business.
Psychologically, Pluto pertains to obsessions-what are we hooked on like addicts nationally and in our own lives?
Capricorn pertains to patriotism, nationalism, so beware of a force of a growing segment of people who are becoming driven and obsessed with their country and it’s military, i.e.Hamas and al-queada.
The result is a movement towards “empire building” through the cultivation of superhuman strength and force – bringing in a powerfully trained warrior class in some societies.
Covert intelligence operations and political assassinations may be on the rise.
Now in regards to these last three matters – Patriotism, Military might, and Empire building – the United States is entering a period of great conflict. While the trend of many nations is in the above direction, the USA’s own progressed chart shows the opposite movement in force.
In the USA chart, progressed Mars is in the peace-loving sign of Libra, about to go retrograde (slow down and take "a nap"), July 10, 2008 through November 5, 2086. Mars rules military and war,(#9) and it,too, goes retrograde for the next 78 years!,thus suggesting that there will be a strong movement in the USA away from military activity and offensives.
We can see this already begin to happen in the US psyche. In addition, there is another major movement in the US chart into Pisces for the next 30 years and Pisces is not a war-oriented sign. It is a sign of peace.
Instead of being the world’s leader in military might, it seems that a growing segment of the USA population wants its leadership to be leaders in world peace (through negotiating). Barack Obama is the best leadere to accomplish this as he is part of the New Aquarian age of peacemaking. In fact, his life path numer is #2, that of a negotiator and peacemaker.
To an unlightened few, peacefulness is considered to be weaknesses but do not be fooled. The Soul Number of Barack Obama, which comes from the energies of the vowels in his birth name, clearly indicate he has been in government in other lifetimes and is no push over!

Piscean and Aquarian age

Several years ago, I spoke of Barack obama as an "arching energy" between the outgoing Piscean age of intellectual domination and the new Aquarian age of cooperation and peacefulness.
These energies are reflected separately in all four of the political figures in the current Presidential race.
In a Universe of dual energies, light and dark, the dark side is called the SHADOW. The shadow of any issue is what is obviously hidden from plane view.
The out of balance Aquarian energy coming in is about fear and control of the masses. The issues are self-centeredness vs. selflessness, dedication to others or control. The bottom line is hypocrisy.
I have been particularly focused on Sarah Palin from an astrological and numerological point of view as she reflects intensely the energies in the Universe that are waning.
She is a perfect example of the fading attitudes of humankind. Her behaviors and attitudes are perfect examples of the shadow side (dark) of the Aquarian age and she herself, personally is the sign of Aquarius.
Thinking that I was all alone in my analysis, I was emailed a supporting article written by renowned Deepok Chopra saying the same thing connected to the Piscean/Aquarian shift and Sarah Palin.
Keep in mind that the outgoing Piscean age energy subjugated women!
I am including a portion written by Chopra on Sept. 9, 2008:

"Sometimes politics has the uncanny effect of mirroring the national psyche even when nobody intended to do that. This is perfectly illustrated by the rousing effect that Gov. Sarah Palin had on the Republican convention in Minneapolis this week. On the surface, she outdoes former Vice President Dan Quayle as an unlikely choice, given her negligent parochial expertise in the complex affairs of governing. Her state of Alaska has less than 700,000 residents, which reduces the job of governor to the scale of running one-tenth of New York City.
She is the reverse of Barack Obama, in essence his shadow, deriding his idealism and exhorting people to obey their worst impulses. In psychological terms the shadow is that part of the psyche that hides out of sight, countering our aspirations, virtue, and vision with qualities we are ashamed to face: anger, fear, revenge, violence, selfishness, and suspicion of "the other."
For millions of Americans, Obama triggers those feelings, but they don't want to express them.
He is calling for us to reach for our higher selves, and frankly, that stirs up hidden reactions of an unsavory kind.
I recognize that psychological analysis of politics is usually not welcome by the public, but I believe such a perspective can be helpful here to understand Palin's message.
In her acceptance speech Gov. Palin sent a rousing call to those who want to celebrate their resistance to change and a higher vision.
Look at what she stands for:
--Small town values -- a denial of America's global role, a return to petty, small-minded parochialism.
--Ignorance of world affairs -- a repudiation of the need to repair America's image abroad.
--Family values -- a code for walling out anybody who makes a claim for social justice. Such strangers, being outside the family, don't need to be heeded.
--Rigid stands on guns and abortion -- a scornful repudiation that these issues can be negotiated with those who disagree.
--Patriotism -- the usual fallback in a failed war.
--"Reform" -- an italicized term, since in addition to cleaning out corruption and excessive spending, one also throws out anyone who doesn't fit your ideology.

Palin reinforces the overall message of the reactionary right, which has been in play since 1980, that social justice is liberal-radical, that minorities and immigrants, being different from "us" pure American types, can be ignored, that progressivism takes too much effort and globalism is a foreign threat.
The radical right marches under the banners of "I'm all right, Jack," and "Why change? Everything's OK as it is."
The irony, of course, is that Gov. Palin is a woman and a reactionary at the same time.
She can add mom to apple pie on her resume, while blithely reversing forty years of feminist progress.
The irony is superficial; there are millions of women who stand on the side of conservatism, however obviously they are voting against their own good.
The Republicans have won multiple national elections by raising shadow issues based on fear, rejection, hostility to change, and narrow-mindedness.

Obama's call for higher ideals in politics can't be seen in a vacuum. The shadow is real; it was bound to respond. Not just conservatives possess a shadow -- we all do. So what comes next is a contest between the two forces of progress and inertia. Will the shadow win again, or has its furtive appeal become exhausted? No one can predict. The best thing about Gov. Palin is that she brought this conflict to light. www.deepakchopra.com
I (Chopra) thought it would be worthwhile to talk about how one deals with the shadow once it breaks out and begins to disrupt things.
The emergence of Gov. Palin wasn’t simply startling — it was inexplicable. How could 20% of women voters suddenly turn toward her when Palin stands for erasing forty years of feminism?
How could the mentality of a small-town mayor morph into a potential President making global decisions?
To explain her meteoric rise, I offered the idea that each of us harbors a shadow, a place where our hidden impulses live. By appealing to fear, resentment, hostility to change, suspicion of “the other,” and similar dark impulses, the Republicans have been the shadow’s party for a long time. Sarah Palin put a smiling face on feelings that normally we feel ashamed of.

The shadow is irrational; it thrives on gut emotions. Bringing a campaign down to the gut level means bringing it down to the level of the shadow.
Instead of listening to an intelligent, persuasive, charismatic man with one African-American parent, people get to say, “I just don’t like blacks. They’re scary; they’re not like me. It’s a gut thing.” Only it’s not. It’s a shadow thing that each of us, not just the right wing, must deal with.
Reacting to Palin with fear, confusion, panic, and lashing out also comes from the shadow.
People who were shocked and dismayed by the Palin effect generally don’t know how to handle shadow energies. Here are a few salient points:
If you don’t encourage them, these energies dissipate.
The bottom line is that the 2008 election isn’t about change versus experience or a noble candidate who may lose to one who plays dirty.
This election is about consciousness.
Since the Reagan revolution, consciousness has been sleepy and dull in politics; ideals have been tarnished by cynicism; inner decay has sapped the party in power of its original purpose, leaving only a pointless morass of defensiveness that expresses itself in negativity.
If the majority of the electorate wakes up and feels inspired to turn the page, that will happen. Obama has sounded the call; few people missed the message. Now it’s a matter of dealing with a phase of fear and resistance before we discover if stuck consciousness is ready to move ahead." www.deepokchopra.com

Is the answer "racism"?

This article was sent to me and I found it wonderful insight and good food for thought.
What if this information was switched?

Could racism be the culprit?

Ponder the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
(The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989,igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included
discipline problems and a record of crashing four planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Educational Background
Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization inInternational Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest
offices in the land as well as our standing in the world.
You make the call.

There has to be a reason that, in spite of the above, we are where we are today.

Of course, there is a generous dosage of country-wide stupidity too.

wondering why?

Hmmmmmmm...I keep wondering why Cindy McCain is ALWAYS with John McCain?
No matter what the occasion, there she is. Do we see Jill Biden and Michelle Obama at every event with their husbands? Tripp Palin also seems to be tagging along too with Missy Palin. Is this a tactic of Republican "family values"? Wondering?
Hmmmmmmmm... when George Bush and Bill Clinton were running for President, as with Biden and Obama now, this did not happen. The wives were sent to different parts of the country to campaign as extensions of their husbands but not Cindy McCain this time. Even when Hilary Clinton ran, Bill Clinton, basically for political reasons obviously, did not tag along but always now does Cindy McCain. Does he need wifely caretaking? Her stoic non-reactive presence just stands there on stage like a "barbie doll". I am wondering if her glamour and seeming youthfulness is being used to balance out his aged and infirmed energetic stiffness? Politics is perception. Hmmmmmmmm... still wondering?

Two years from now...

In looking at the transits for John McCain in his chart, I see a major transition in his chart which certainly then would put and leave Sarah Palin in charge of our country!
We have seen the stress of the Presidency physically change young vibrant men into old looking and weakened energetic humans.
The stress on the physical body is huge. Place this humangus stress on a physical body that is older to start with and something "gotta give".
It is like putting a new engine with all its energy and power to reve up and go into a 16 year old Chevy Cavalier and put the "pedal to the metal" on the car.
The engine might be good but the belts, the fuel pump, etc. having been around for sixteen years cannot stand and deal with the intensified stress and the vehicle down eventually blows apart!
When I look at John McCain energetically is see death, walking death. His energy field is struggling already.
Cancer is a disfunction of the cellular body frequently caused by stress. Energetically it represents deep hurts, long standing resentments, carrying hatreds.
John McCain's life path number as well as his ultimate goal number in numerology is the same -- 11/2. This double dose of 11/2 energy is unusual and doubly intense.
The 11/2 vibration is "supersonic" energy. The #2 is about BALANCE of all the human energetic bodies - physical, intuitive, mental, and emotional.
When out of balance the #2 says "victim". Could it be that on a deep seeded and perhaps unconscious level, McCain has a feeling of being a victim whick is still "eating away" at him?
Issues with our face represent issues with "how we show ourselves to the world". This is where his cancer has been three times!
How often have we been reminded of his heroic and victimization situtation in the military? Ad nauseaum!
It has become his trademark. My question is what would he have to say about himself if he had not had that experience? What would he use to make him a "somebody"? To me, on some level, he continues to see and enjoy his period of "victimization'--it gives him his identity. Move on, dear soul. You chose and created this lifetime package as a soul so move on already!

The end for John McCain

Well, the final nail has been hammered into the metaphorical coffin of John McCain's run for Presidency.
Congress passed a $700 trillion bailout for the financial industry and McCain, as head of the Republican party made a big splash as leader. Interesting enough, this position of leadership usually goes to President Bush, but not this time understandably.
Through deregulation political policies started at the end of the Clinton administration and elaborated upon for the last eight years of the Republican congress and Presidency, the deregulation for "our money" became intensified.
Deregulation of government in business is a lynch pin of Republican beliefs.
Involvement in big business is also part of its platforms.
No matter what spin is now put on McCain's involvement, McCain is a Republican in the eyes of the American people and who has been in power the last eight years but John McCain and the Republicans!
The American people are such a pragmatic "meat and potatoes" character that when all this hysteria settles and they come to use their brains and common sense they will ask themselves one question--"how did we get into this mess"?
More importantly, upon realizing the "how" and then the fact that THEY are now taking the CONSEQUENCES of OTHER PEOPLES CHOICES their political rage will mushroom.
It is as though you were driving your car through a traffic light, someone did not obey the law and felt they had a right to run the RED light, slams into you broadside and now YOU ARE BEING BLAMED FOR THE ACCIDENT AND MUST TAKE THE CONSEQUENCES of their behavior. You are left with no car, no insurance coverage, physical and mental health problems and job loss. You do not deserve these consequences! yet your CHOICE was taken away from you by bureacratic powers that you have no control over.
Well, now the American people on Nov. 4 will have their choice back.
We have seen what John McCain, his cronies, his choices (Sarah Palin) and his lackluster attempts to politicize these events will get him.
Prepare for a taxpayer revolt!
We are not through the worst of this and prepare for energies in November and December that will inflame and enrage the populace to a point of revolt.
